Ayade loses C’ River Northern senatorial Election to Jarigbe

Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has lost the 2023 Northern Senatorial election to the 

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate and National Assembly incumbent Senator representing Cross River Northern Senatorial district.

 Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe was declared winner of Cross River Northern Senatorial district election having pulled 76,145 votes to defeat the APC candidate, Gov. Ben Ayade who scored 56,595 votes 

It would be recalled that Jarigbe Agom who is seeking a re-election to the National Assembly defeated the Governor’s candidate Stephen Odey in 2021in a re- election to complete the tenure of late senator Rose Oko

Declaring Jarigbe Agom winner of the contest, the returning officer, Dr. Emmanuel Emanghe who spoke on behalf of Independent National Electoral Commission INEC commended everyone who had been in the field and who had made it possible for a successful poll.

Emanghe  thanked all security agents for giving the neccesary back up which led to successful conduct of the election.

“By the powers conferred on me as returning officer, I hereby announced and declares Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe as winner of the just concluded Cross River North  Senatorial district election”.
