The Government of Cross River, under the leadership of Gov. Bassey Otu has scheduled to hold an International Cooperation and Investment Summit in Calabar, the state capital
The conference billed to take place at the Calabar International Convention Center, (CICC) with the theme; ” The Paradigm Shift” would be held on Aug. 30 and Aug. 31
According to reports,the summit’s keynote speakers would include Dr. Herbert Wigwe, Chief Executive Officer, Access Holdings Plc; Mr Lamin Barrow, Director General, Nigeria Country Office, African Development Bank, (AFDB).
While the third was Dr. Olagunju Ashimolowo, Vice President Operations, Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS) Bank among 18 other dignitaries from different parts of the world.
Mr Victor Edet, Chairman of the Organising Committee said apart from featuring prominent guest speakers across the world, the summit would bring together international development organisations.
Edet also maintained that thought leaders, and organized private sector from around the globe would be present.
According to him, “the summit will help in strengthening the Small and Medium Enterprises, (SME’s) and infrastructural development in emerging markets.
“It will help in attracting Investment to the state and countering regional insecurity for sustainable growth.
“Also, it will promote international cooperation and enable the government to identify innovative solutions to solve the development challenges confronting the state among others,” he said.
He used the opportunity to call on government officials, captains of Industries, researchers, political leaders, corporate organizations, institutions of higher learning to register online and attend the summit through the website,
