Cross River State Chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress NLC has elected Comrade Gregory Ulayi as the new state Chairman in a keenly contested election in calabar the state capital
Ulayi who contested the election under the platform of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) defeated the incumbent having scored 339 votes
as against 139 votes scored by the incumbent chairman, comrade Ben Ukpepi out of a total votes of 528
Announcing the winner of that election, the returning officer who also is a National Officer, comrade Benson Ukpah congratulated the winner and asked the winner to make sure that he runs a transparent and inclusive Government where workers are all carried along and have that sense of belonging
In his post election speech, the new state chairman of workers union Comrade Gregory Ulayi assured the union members of an inclusive Government promising to carry everyone along.
He promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him, his words; “I shall operate an open door policy where the inputs of union members would not be toyed with”, promising to carry everyone along for the good of the union.
