Cross River State Governor, prof. Ben Ayade has formally commissioned and handed over Armed Squared administrative block built and donated to the Nigeria Correctional Service in calabar by the chairman of calabar municipal council, Hon.Effefiong Nta Eke
The Governor who was represented by his deputy, prof. Ivara Esu, while commend the chairman for his gesture said the facility will further enhance the performance of the service in calabar
He described Nta Eke as a performa and an archiver who does not compromise when it comes to development,
while urging others in privileged positions to always remember where they started. His words; “I urge you all to emulate the mayor when ever you are elevated in life by not forgetting where you came from”, maintaining that one day opportunity will come where he would serve his people at a higher level.
The Mayor, Hon.Nta Eke, while thanking the state governor, prof. Ben Ayade in his remarks said the completion of the project would not have been possible without the support of the governor
He said the idea to put up the structure was informed by the inimical wave of The ENDSARS that affected some shallow parts of the command’s infrastructure, stressing that the completion and handing over of the building is and eloquent testimony driven with a strong commitment of the administration to fortify the paramilitary institutions
The Honourable commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Dr. Stella odey Ekpo in her remarks described the Mayor as a proactive young man who has performed excellently well in just less than three years in office and has made the state proud
She called on the Nigeria Correctional Service to make judicious use of the facility and expand on the collaboration.
In his response, the controller of cross River State correctional service, Barr. Sauna Kinane who was full of appreciation for the mayor, Effefiong Nta Eke adding that the project is exclusively the goodwill and hard work of the council chairman, noted that the project would not have come to fruition without the kind blessings of the Governor, prof. Ben Ayade
He gave the assurance that the building would be efficiently and effectively put to use he maintained.
