A chieftain of All Progressives Congress APC from Biase, Chief Sam Bassey has said that he and his people would support the peoples Democratic Party Governorship candidate in 2023 election
He said what would determine the governorship seat in Cross River State is the people, with the introduction of BEVAS there will be no more room for manipulation.
He maintained that the people will decide who the governor will be but that would be based on contemporary sentiment and it is a seat where they talk about zoning the governorship back to the South.
He further disclosed that the principles of zoning is not properly followed adding that zoning should be done in such a way that it reflects equity, natural justice, and good conscience, maintaining that by giving the efiks both the Governorship and the Senate positions does not reflect the principles of equity and good conscience, adding that the people of Akamkpa and Biase will not buy into it
“I can bet you that the people of Akamkpa and Biase are not going to buy into that arrangements”. I’m speaking categorically because I have been talking with my friends, brothers and sisters across board, both in PDP and APC in Biase are Akamkpa, they hold the same opinion .
” I ‘am not rejecting zoning, I am only rejecting zoning at the extent that it makes my people seem to be like second class citizens”.

“we are going to vote in a manner that we know that reasonably, the outcome of the election for which we voted would be of benefit to us and bring progress to my people.”
