INEC Extends Collection Date For PVCs Nationwide

With barely three weeks for Nigerians to go to polls and vote their leaders, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced further extension of date for the collection of PVCs Nationwide to additional one week.

In a release dated January 28th,2023, signed by the National commissioner and chairman, Information and voter education committee, Mr. Festus okoye, said, “the commission after meeting with the Resident Electoral Commissioners from the 36 States and Abuja, deliberated on a number of issues, including reports from RECs on the ongoing collection of PVCs Nationwide”

It was also contained in the release,  “having received reports from all the 36 States of the Federation, the commission is encouraged by the progress made so far as more Nigerians troop out daily to collect their PVCs”

The commission maintained that the ongoing collection of PVCs Nationwide will therefore continue and end on the 5th of February 2023. The Commission also noted that this is the second time INEC is extending PVCS collection nationwide adding that this will be the last extension of the exercise

The Commission also said that the collection period has also been extended by two hours daily and will start by 9am to 5pm daily including Saturdays and Sundays.

It was also stated that those who engaged in double and multiple registration should not bother to visit any of the offices as the commission did not print their PVCs
