Nasani trains 100 youths in SkilI acquisition in calabar

National Agency for Science and engineering infrastructure (NASANI) has started it skills acquisition training and youth empowerment on modern methods of electrical installation and maintenance in calabar 

In his address, the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive of the Agency, Engr. Mohammed Sani Haruna said the programme is the first phase in the south south regional skills development by the Agency

He said, Electrical installation, repairs and maintenance will no longer be metre conducting, piping or trunking of cable channel and streaming overhead conductors, adding that electrical installation is beyond lighting point and socket outlets , it is about remote control and wireless operation

He further disclosed that the training is therefore to familiarize the trainees not only on the current advances on the new and emerging technologies in electrical installations, repairs and maintenance but also to prepare  and equip them with competencies to meet the challenges of the next Industrial Revolution

He maintained that this type of skill development is a key prerequisite towards the development of a competent work force for Nigerian 

The state Deputy Governor, professor Ivara Esu who represented the Governor, prof Ben Ayade at the occasion commended ( NASANI) for bringing such a big event to Calabar, saying, ” we do hope that in future, many other programmes, especially in plumbing,  tiling, and any other artisan works  Will be organize, by the institution

He said Naseni is a well known brand, it is almost a University on it’s own adding that the state is happy because NASENI has come to cross River State

, In his good will message at the event,  chigh chief Edem Duke said the elaborate initiative of NASENI through the instrumentality of the President in identifying cross River State as a pivot for the stimulation of the initiative in the south south

He said it is worthy to not that the vice chairman of the Agency has indicated that this is   indeed the beginning of greater prospect and further investment especially in the area of skills acquisition
