Prince Bassey Edet Otu, the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Cross River State on Thursday reeled out his track record, current political rating and  capacity, declaring that no other governorship candidate in the state can match  his pedigree and capacity.

Speaking at the inauguration of the APC  State Campaign Council, Prince Otu said Senator Professor Ben Ayade has performed excellently well with the establishment of industries in all the local government areas of the state which would serve as verve in turning around the economy of the state.

“These industries would serve as job creation platforms, development  areas and would  move the economy of the state to the desired point where we can sustain our developmental needs”

Prince Otu said he has broad based experience having  worked in critical sectors of the economy:  the banking industry, oil and gas and as a successful businessman and  garnered  experience from those areas which  would be brought to bear in handling the state’s affairs when he assumes the mantle of leadership.

“In the Reps, I was Chairman of House Committee on Banking and Finance while in the Senate I Chaired the Petroleum Industry  Committee and my records in those two committees still stand out.

“Before I became Chairman of the Petroleum Committee the local content was just 31% but I moved it to 90% and gave more Nigerians leverage to participate in that crucial sector while in the Reps the reforms of my committee there made sure banks no more go under to cause pains to our people. You can imagine the trauma of putting your money in the bank and later being told the money is no more. Some people have collapsed while others become suicidal. All that has stopped”

He assured the cheering crowd that he would be the governor for everyone and all parts of the state and called on all those there to work relentlessly to bring victory to the APC.

“That you have been made part of this Campaign Council is a call to duty and recognition that you are important and have a role to play. For victory we have won already  but we should not go to sleep but take the message of APC to every part of the state and harvest massive victory in all elections”

In his speech,  His Excellency Senator Professor  Ben Ayade, leader of the party in the state and South south,  told those inaugurated that there is room for everyone in the party and called for unity of purpose and togetherness in working towards victory.

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Professor Ivara Esu said the opposition is in disarray and sang a song “as e dey pain dem , e dey sweet us” to mock the opposition whom he said has already lost the election.

Barrister Alphonsus Eba,  aka Okadigbo, the State Chairman of APC said  there are 52,000 members on the Campaign Council and more persons willing to work are being added into the campaign directorates to make sure victory is total in all elections.

He said over 500,000 votes would be harvested if each member of the council brings two persons to vote for candidates of the party during the election.

Ambassador Soni Abang, the Director General of the Campaign Council said the opposition knows they  stand no chance in the field which is the reason they are making effort in seeking short cuts through the courts but that too has failed them.
