As the struggle for Obongship deepens, more Houses continue to pay homage to Etubom Anthony Ani as the Obong – elect by a factional Etubom group who maintained that the selection and proclamation of Etubom Ani was in accordance with the Supreme court judgement
The recent roll-call was the people of Ikot Offiong lead by Etubom (Ambassador) Nya Asuquo Eyoma who paid homage to the factional Obong elect in solidarity, pledging their loyalty to him as the new Obong elect
Responding, Etubom Ani promised to do the best in his reign to assist the people of Ikot Offiong especially in the area of education, he noted that the people of Ikot Offiong have suffered a lot adding that he has equally suffered with them stressing that when the war with Oku Iboku started in Year two thousand, he sent relief materials and food items to them
The monarch also promised to assist them in the area of education by building a model school for them and would equally pay school fees for those that would like to go to school as education is the bedrock of any society stressing that there would not be any meaningful development without education
He promised that during his reign as the Obong of calabar, he would use his office to uplift the people of EFik kingdom promising that the kingdom will be heard lauder than what is it today . He summarized
