As part of activities to Mark the 2022 World Food Day Celebration, the Clan Head of Kasuk II in Calabar Municipal Counci, His Royal Majesty (Dr) Ededem Ayito has bagged an award of “FOOD AMBASSADOR” in the State.
Presenting the award, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr. Mfon Bassey said the award was in recognition of recipients’ immense contributions in the agricultural sub-sector and the improvent of the state enconomy and livelihood through employment.
Mr. Bassey charged recipients to be good Ambassadors of food sufficiency and security, steadily impacting on the lives of the citizens in the state and nation.
Upholding that no good work goes unnoticed, the Commissioner encouraged all to get involved in the fight against hunger and malnutrition by keying into the various agricultural programs of the Ayade-led Administration for the overall benefits of all and in actualization of the Sustainable Development Goals number 2 (Zero Hunger).
Responding on behalf of the awardees, His Royal Highness, Ededem Ayito, Clan Head of Kasuk II thanked the State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources for finding them worthy and pledged their continued support in the development of the State through the Ministry.
He appealed to the State to encourage farmers by providing a level playing ground for all in the different Value Chains to feed the robust Industrialization drive of the present administration in order to increase the Gross Domestic Product of the State.
